MEET Kandice

New Leadership For Changing Times

My parents are from rural communities in Mississippi and met in high school in California.  My mother is a nurse and a professor,  and my father heads facilities and maintenance.  I was raised in the tradition of God, Family, Country, which I continue with my children.

I am a wife and mother of three, and Educational Specialist in Extensive Support Needs,  I volunteer as a Sunday School Teacher,  PTA and School Site Council among many other things.  While I understand that not everyone is able to engage, I want to be there to support those who cannot, who have no voice, those in need and to make a difference.

Each election cycle before my mom took me to the voting booth with her she would explain how she was voting and why, another tradition I teach my daughters.  My mom would highlight that voting is the right and duty of adult citizens, just like paying taxes which support the infrastructure of schools, cities and our country.

I have opinions and ideas; rather than being an armchair quarterback, I decided to step up, make a difference and try to be the change I want to see, and that is why I am running for reelection.  Can I count on your support?
